BABY'S FIRST PHOTOS

There's a new baby in the house and you're in love all over again! Whether it's your first child or not, parents want to capture that angelic stage in their baby's development...the early weeks and months of life. But how do they accomplish this without stressing out everyone involved including the baby. The following 3 tips may help in making the decisions on the hows, whens and whats for Baby's First Photos!Tip 1: How do I get started? Begin by contacting a professional photographer who will make a "house call." When your baby is very young, it's daunting to consider how to time their (sometimes) erratic sleep schedules with traveling to a photography studio. Having your photographer come to your home makes that event something even more special and definitely less stressful. If Baby sleeps too long, your photographer can begin with "sleeping" photos. If Baby awakes and is hungry, feeding isn't a problem. The photographer know that a well-fed baby is always a happy baby for the camera!Tip 2: When is the best time to take photos of your new bundle of joy? Is it when they are hours or days old? Is it when they are several weeks or months? This is a personal decision that directly indicates how confident you are with the photographer you select. There are details for newborns that don't necessary apply to babies who are several weeks/months old. For example, newborn sessions ...

AND BABY MAKES THREE

One of the happy off-shoots (pun intended) of weddings is the addition of children to a young family. These infants and children are especially important to Photiq because we've photographed their parents' wedding. Watching the "circle of life" unfold is very exciting as photography continues to be such a connector for all ages. Babies and children have the newness and exuberance of life in their eyes, laughs and movements. Here are samples of "circle of life" children. Take in the joy of childhood as you view these fresh faces!

EMERGING PERSONALITIES
March 05, 2013

Since Photiq provides photography for weddings and life after weddings, I thought I'd share a few images and thoughts about infant portrait photography. Most young parents take lots of photos of their new babies! Some are great, some not so great. But the fact that the child's life is being documented is the most important thing. Bravo to you parents out there snapping away! Obviously, with infants and young children, the photos are always candid since they're too young to really pose (even though I've had some infants look directly into the lens!). Their unassuming lack of posing is one of the things I really enjoy about photographing children! Not all children will smile for the camera even though they may be all laughs for their parents' photos. Infants, especially, are true to themselves....if they don't want to smile, they'll stare down the camera. If they want to smile or giggle, it's not because they know their photo is being taken...it's because they're happy. Both serious and smiling photos of infants are fascinating character studies as to what types of people these little ones may become some day.Featured here are portraits of one little girl with an array of expressions hinting at her forming personality. All of her photos are unique and beautiful.    Parents, if you want all smiles in your babies' photos, but are disappointed that they ...
